Crazy for Presents

July saw our gorgeous niece Caitlin turn 9. It really does only seem like yesterday that I got the call at work to let me know Gav’s sister Amanda had just given birth, and here we are, 9 years on. I’m trying to infect her with the cardmaking bug, but the truth of it is that Caitlin is an amazing little artist. She draws so well for such a young person, hopefully it’s something she continues to pursue!

SUPPLIES (all by Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted)

Paper :         Pink Passion, Green Galore, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White

Along with her presents, we also got her a Gift Voucher for JB HiFi (you know they’re growing up when they want Gift Vouchers, lol). I used one of Makeesha Byl’s gorgeous little gift card holders, stamped with the same present image from the retired Crazy for Christmas set.

Oopsy!

Ok, so this next card I made for one of my best friends husbands for his birthday. I was rather happy with how it turned out, and spent ages trying to get a decent photo of it. All good, so I pop it in the post and send it on it’s merry little way out to Kalgoorlie. Fast forward a few days and I got a message via Gav (my husband)’s Facebook from said bestie. It read :

Tell your wife thanks for Eoin’s card – but there was a bit missing…. like the inside!!!… Its blank!

OMG. I actually posted the card without even writing on it. Who does that?!?! 😀

So here you go Eoin, an international apology of the blogging kind! Luv ya!!!

Back again

I managed to get a little bit of editing done last night to clear up a few of my pics – I’ll have a few posts over the next few days with some of the cards I’ve managed to make over the past month or so. This card is a complete and utter CASE of this card by the extremely talented Kirsty Brown. I saw it, loved it and just had to replicate it. Thanks for sharing Kirsty!

Ink :              Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss

Gloomy sky = No Pictures

I just thought I’d stop in to let you know that the flurry of posts a couple of weeks ago wasn’t just a one off – I’ve been busy creating, but with the gloomy Perth sky we’ve had of late, it’s been hard to get a decent photo taken. I’m trying to work out the best spot in the house to capture a good photo, and it seems to be in the lounge under our nice big window – so tomorrow while my little “helper” is asleep, I’ll get some piccys snapped and hopefully have them uploaded by Saturday!

Thanks for stopping by!

Thinking of you

I saw this card on SCS a while ago, and really liked the layout, so when I had to put together a sympathy card I decided to CASE it.

SUPPLIES (all by Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted)
Stamps :                 Inspired by Nature; Sincere Salutations
Paper :                   Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla
Ink :                        Chocolate Chip
Ribbon :                  Pink Pirouette
Other :                    Paper Piercing; Dimensionals

Strangely enough, when I first got my In Colours for this year, my first thoughts were “I’ll never use the pink” (I’m not generally a pink person) – have a guess what the first colour I’ve run out of is!! It really is a lovely shade of pink!

Male card – Make & Take

I don’t know about you, but I find it hard to make a nice Male card. I’ve got so many flowers & pretty things that are great for girly cards, but not much that’s overly suitable for a man. So, I thought I’d challenge myself and give my workshop ladies a nice simple man’s card to take home with them from my first workshop.

SUPPLIES (all by Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted)
Stamps :        Thoughts & Prayers, Upsy Daisy, Weathered
Paper :            Not Quite Navy, Close To Cocoa, Very Vanilla, Bella Bleu DSP
Ink :                 Close To Cocoa
Other :           Vanilla Brads (Bazill Basics)

Simply Scrappin’

Those of you that know me know that I am not a Scrapbooker. Now, it’s not that I don’t love the way a lovely scrapped layout looks, it’s just that I really am no good at it. I LOVE making cards but just feel that my scrapbooking leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe it will come with practice… I hope so! Anyway, my very first workshop was for a lady that loves to scrap. This certainly posed a bit of a problem for me, because I knew that she really wanted to see how Stampin’ Up! products could be incorporated into Scrapbooking. What better way to start off than by showing off a Simply Scrappin’ Kit. These kits are really wonderful, and a great introduction to Scrapbooking for those wondering where to start, and they provide fabulous papers and elements for those more seasoned scrappers looking for something different.

Here is my layout that I did with the Rock-A-Bye Boy Simply Scrappin’ Kit.

SUPPLIES (all by Stampin’ Up! unless otherwise noted)
Simply Scrappin’ Kit – Rock-A-Bye Boy
Ribbon : Chocolate Chip

The photo is of my eldest son Wil when he was just a few hours old – he was born 5 weeks premature so spent a little bit of time in the Neo-Natal Nursery.

Spring Mini Catalogue

Yesterday was a fabulous day!

Firstly I was very lucky to be able to attend a Stamp-a-thon fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Foundation.  Organised by my wonderful upline Makeesha Byl, along with Louise Ryan, Charmaine Black, Monique Bruning, the Stamp-a-thon was a huge success, judging by the number of crafty ladies there to do their thing! We got to complete 8 awesome projects which has helped to give me some new ideas for my workshops!

And the other reason yesterday was such a great day? Well, the new Spring Mini Catalogue has been released! There are some absolutely lovely sets in the Mini, and don’t even get me started on the new Designer Series Paper!! If you would like to receive a copy of the Mini Catalogue, email me and I will have a copy in the post for you tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!
